Clinical Experience

Dr. Naqash built his clinical foundation at the Institute of Medical Sciences & SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar — one of the highest-volume hematology centres in Eastern India — where his work spanned the full clinical environment: OPD, inpatient wards, transplant units, blood banks, and the ICU. It was here that he performed and supervised 100+ Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplants across all three transplant types — Autologous, Allogeneic, and Haploidentical — and participated in multiple CAR-T Cell Therapy procedures, including the first such procedure ever performed in Eastern India. He also carries formal expertise in Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banking — an area inseparably linked to hematology that very few clinicians practice alongside their primary specialty — with dedicated research in transfusion-related complications.

A Historic First: CAR-T Cell Therapy in Eastern India

Dr. Naqash was part of the pioneering team that brought CAR-T Cell Therapy to Eastern India for the very first time — at a time when patients in the region had no access to this treatment without travelling to Mumbai or Delhi. CAR-T Cell Therapy (Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy) involves genetically reprogramming a patient’s own immune cells to seek and destroy cancer cells with a precision no conventional drug can match. It is used for relapsed or refractory blood cancers — including ALL, Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma, and Multiple Myeloma — where standard treatment has stopped working. Bringing this to Eastern India for the first time was not just a clinical milestone. It opened a door for an entire region.

Advanced Treatments & Procedures

Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT)

Dr. Naqash has performed and supervised 100+ Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplants — Autologous, Allogeneic, and Haploidentical — managing the complete patient journey from pre-transplant evaluation and donor workup through post-transplant monitoring and graft-versus-host disease management.

CAR-T Cell Therapy

CAR-T Cell Therapy (Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy) involves genetically reprogramming a patient’s own immune cells to seek and destroy cancer cells with a precision no conventional drug can match. It is reserved for relapsed or refractory blood cancers — including ALL, Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma, and Multiple Myeloma — where standard treatment has stopped working. Dr. Naqash was part of the pioneering team that performed CAR-T Cell Therapy for the first time in Eastern India, personally participating in multiple such procedures at a time when patients in the region had no access to this treatment without travelling across the country.

Chemotherapy, Targeted Therapy & Immunotherapy

Treatment plans are built around the most effective, evidence-based protocol for each individual — precision-targeted therapies attacking specific cancer cell mutations, immunotherapy enabling the body’s own defences to fight cancer, or optimised chemotherapy regimens tailored to the specific diagnosis.

Critical Care Hematology

With advanced ICU training alongside his hematology specialisation, Dr. Naqash is equipped to manage critically ill patients — including those with severe infections, bleeding crises, organ complications during chemotherapy, or post-transplant emergencies.

Diagnostic & Bone Marrow Services

  • Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy
  • Histopathological and molecular diagnosis
  • Pre-transplant evaluation and donor workup
  • Post-transplant monitoring and graft assessment
  • Blood banking, antibody screening, and transfusion management
  • Second opinion consultations for complex or rare hematological cases

Approach to Care

  • Accurate Diagnosis First Every treatment decision begins with a thorough, precise diagnosis. Dr. Naqash does not treat what has not been properly understood.
  • Evidence-Based Treatment Every recommendation is grounded in current international clinical guidelines — ensuring patients receive the most modern protocols, not yesterday’s standards.
  • Truly Individualised Care No two patients are the same, even with identical diagnoses. Every plan is built around the specific individual — their condition, history, values, and long-term goals.
  • Compassionate, Clear Communication Dr. Naqash is committed to ensuring every patient leaves a consultation feeling informed, not overwhelmed — with a clear understanding of their condition and the path forward.
  • Long-Term Follow-Up Dr. Naqash remains closely involved across the full treatment journey — tracking response, managing side effects, and adjusting plans as the clinical picture evolves.
